A Comment on Cake and Chat

Cake and chat is a defining feature of our Hearth community. Hosted each week on Tuesday and Friday at 2pm, it is an opportunity for women to come together and have a much needed break in their work day. Always featuring a selection of cakes and tea (hint: the blue thermos is always breakfast tea, and the pink features a surprise herbal), it is an informal get together for members and non-members alike to get to know one another. Taking place in our cosy lounge area, with smooth jazz often playing in the background, cake and chat provides a space to rant and relate with like-minded women.

My first time at The Hearth was during a cake & chat. Even whilst experiencing pre-job interview nerves, there was an instant warmth to the event. In my view, no event embodies the ethos of The Hearth quite like cake & chat: casual, clever, and communal. Our name was chosen for the physical space of The Hearth - a place for women to come together and share. This vision is actualised every Tuesday and Friday with women sharing stories, recommending restaurants and films, ranting about work or partners, and coming together through cake and conversation.

The Hearth strives to be more than a workspace; it seeks to provide women with a social community and a space to share. Cake and chat allows women of all ages, professions, and backgrounds this opportunity. It provides an escape twice a week from work, family, and any external pressures, and relax into the welcoming and comfortable environment of The Hearth.

We have an open-door policy for cake & chat: anyone is welcome to join us and experience a corner of our community. If you would like to join, please send an email to hello@thehearth.me and let us know when you would like to come along. You can also sign up for a complimentary half-day here. Book your trial slot on a Tuesday or Friday and experience both the productivity and community of The Hearth.

I look forward to chatting with you soon over a cup of tea and a cake :)
