Introduction to and reconnect with vinyl with Linett Kamala.

Learn about the history of vinyl and the basics of handling this much loved analog music form.

Learn about where best to find vinyl and how to build / look after a record collection.

Linett shares a seminal album from her childhood and then opens up the floor for an interactive session where participants get the opportunity to share and story tell with their favourite vinyl.

**Please bring along one piece of vinyl if you would like to take part in the sharing section of the session.

Experiential Listening Sessions with Linett Kamala

Join Linett Kamala, DJ, Interdisciplinary Artist, Creative Producer, Lead for the Original Sounds Collective, and Founding Director of Lin Kam Art, for a 5-part series of curated unique sound system culture experiences on Friday evenings at The Hearth.

Rooted in the work of her company Lin Kam Art which aims to amplify lives through festival culture via public art, takeovers, events, workshops, residencies, and programmes, the sessions explored through uplifting and positive Global Bass Music are based on the Lin Kam Art values of Love - Peace - Inclusivity - Diversity - Creativity - Knowledge & Joy.


Linett Kamala

 

Linett was the first female DJ to perform on a sound system at the Notting Hill Carnival in the 1980s and now serves as its Board Director. She continues to champion inclusion within music, advocating for underrepresented groups, including women & young people.

Her company Lin Kam Art aims to enrich lives through festival and sound system culture via public art, takeovers, events, workshops, residencies and programmes.
