Flex Your Campaigning Muscles and Create Change

  • The Hearth 16 Lonsdale Road London, England, NW6 6RD United Kingdom (map)

Tickets: Free for Hearth members, open to non-members

We all get frustrated about unfair, harmful and plainly wrong things happening in our neighbourhood and beyond. And yet, more often than not, we prefer to ignore our desire for equality, a healthy environment and a liveable planet. Those challenges can feel so much bigger than us.

Still, when we rise up and start campaigning on issues we care deeply about, we can make a difference where we live as well as far beyond. Journalist and clean air campaigner Amandine Alexandre knows from experience how much our voices matter to create a spiral of change.

Since becoming aware of the huge impact of toxic air on our health in 2016, Amandine has been campaigning tirelessly for better air quality in Brent, London and across the UK. During this Lunch & Learn session at the Hearth, she will share her motivation, her achievements and the most effective ways to move people into action.

Amandine Alexandre

Journalist & Changemaker

Amandine Alexandre is a French journalist and activist. She was born in Corsica in 1982 and has always felt a huge sense of responsibility for almost everything since then.

In 2016, she decided to focus her worrying and her action on cleaning up the air in Brent - a smaller task than trying to fix the entire world but still a big endeavour. Why? Because air pollution is high in our borough and it has a very negative impact on children’s lungs, their general health and their ability to learn.

Amandine has two children, rides a cargo-bike and lives in Harlesden.
