Motherhood Story

  • The Hearth 16 Lonsdale Road London, England, NW6 6RD United Kingdom (map)

Tickets: By donation only

A mindful and safe space to share and discuss our birth stories. By listening and sharing we can together, bring our attention and empathy to the sovereignty of our postpartum period. By listening to each other we can learn how to let go of guilt and shame and step into trust and instinct. Making the time to honour and share our motherhood experiences, no matter where we are on the journey.

Motherhood is amazingly rich and satisfying experience like no other, it will always send you off on a twisting turning road while you'll encounter bumps that you can't foresee. This is due to the physical changes that took place in your brain when you were pregnant and overnight changing your relationship, social expectations that you 'can do it all' hypervigilance in worrying about infant caretaking, sleep deprivation, hormonal shifts, physical depletion and social isolation. The simple act of sharing your feelings, doubts and insecurities about your enormous new role will hopefully be a big part of you recovering your emotional stability. However sharing some of your vulnerabilities can be liberating.
