Interested in portraiture? Before you can draw an entire face, it’s important to learn to draw each of the facial features individually. Only by taking one feature at a time can you learn the anatomy well and understand what to look for and what to capture in your drawing. This class will teach you how to look at the nose, mouth and eyes and draw them in a lifelike manner. Using your self as the model (mirrors will be provided) we’ll be looking at the face straight on, starting off by drawing the features individually before putting them together.
Basic materials will be provided but please feel free to bring along any favourite sketchbooks/pads or pencils/drawing materials that you may have or may want to use.
ABOUT SARA
With over 15 year’s experience in her field, Sara's innovative approach to printmaking sees her combine traditional printing techniques including etching, silkscreen, collograph, photo polymer, relief and mono-printing. The combination of these techniques has become the artist's signature over the years. It is also Sara's marriage of traditional processes with a fresh design aesthetic that gives her work a lasting impact. Embracing the flexibility of printmaking, Sara has secured high profile commissions in the art, design, fashion, illustration, hotel and retail industries. Her work has been exhibited widely in London, Paris, Brussels, New York and Hong Kong.
Her works capture a delicacy and subtle beauty of line, pattern and palette. Juxtaposing architectural drawings or photographs with fine patterned fabrics and elements of the figure, Sara’s work is graceful and sensitive. The carefully composed layers of ink amalgamate to produce remarkably sophisticated images, close inspection reveals many “ghost like” images and tracings.
