QP Fringe - Book Talk: Yasmin Khan on 'Edgware Road' with Shyama Perera

Historian and broadcaster Yasmin Cordery Khan will join us at The Hearth alongside BBC journalist Shyama Perera, to discuss her debut novel 'Edgware Road' published by independent press Head of Zeus.

A gripping mixture of mystery, family drama and insights into the immigrant experience, Khan’s expansive debut depicts two generations of a London Pakistani family, and the secrets of an estranged father that keep haunting his daughter years after his death.

'Edgware Road ' discusses themes of national identity, gender and class using Khan's own experiences of growing up in the city and her unique perspective on contemporary London history.

Khan describes her novel as "a love letter to London and about how global forces shape everyday lives."
