We have the privilege this November to step into a Shanghainese kitchen with Lillian. Growing up in Shanghai in the 80s, where food rations were still in place, Lillian first learnt to eat well with her grandmother Ding, a fantastic cook and the neighbourhood's fountain of culinary wisdom. Inspired by these vivid childhood tastes and memories, Lillian launched Shanghai Supper Club in 2014, to share her grandmother's home cooking recipes and hard-to-find 'dianxin' - Shanghainese street food snacks.
Lillian has created a menu to take us through autumn - using seasonal ingredients that the Shanghainese incorporate into their dishes; some with added herbal and healing properties to tide us over into winter. Enjoy a delicious multi-course meal, with a welcome cocktail, and listen to Lillian's stories of her culinary heritage.

Home Cooked at The Hearth Supper Club Series
London is the world's most cosmopolitan city, and while you can taste the fanciest food at Michelin starred restaurants, the one thing you can't find easily is good home-cooked food. Made with love and warmth, often by mums and grandmas, using traditional ingredients and old family recipes - home cooked food is food made from the hearth and the heart. Imagine Chef's Table, but the chef is your mum and she makes you chop the onions while she's simmering the sauce. All our Home Cooked Supper Clubs feature a 'making' element - using your hands to create, or recreate, a dish.
