Healing from Codependency: Surviving the holidays without getting triggered

Are you Codependent and looking to heal?

Have you feeling the challenging effects of being involved with a Narcissist or controlling person?

This series of workshops run by Codependency Recovery Coach Anna Shapira – is designed to help you rediscover and care for yourself through learning some of the core impacts of your experience.

So far we’ve looked at key topics like Healthy boundaries, Healing Guilt and Shame and radical Self-Care.

Coming up: ‘Coping with being triggered’, ‘How to access and release trauma from the body’ and ‘How to develop trust in yourself and others’.

Each workshop is effective on it’s own, but we recommend the whole series to give you a full grounding in recovery.

About This Session

“If you think you are enlightened, go and spend a week with your family.” Ram Dass

Our families are some of the best experts at pushing our buttons (triggering) us. Coming up to Christmas this workshop will help prepare you, so that this year you may be able to be just a little bit more Zen.

When we’re triggered it is often a very scary experience for us. Suddenly raging or withdrawing and not being able to control it, can feel scary and shameful. Triggers send us into a state which is outside our rational control and that’s what can feel so unsettling.

Understanding what’s actually going on will come as a great relief.

We’ll be looking at all the different ways you get triggered (not just families!) so that you can regain some control and peace.

Everyone gets triggered, but when you’re codependent or have been through narcissistic abuse, you will generally be more easily triggered.

This workshop will be exploring:

  • Exactly what’s happening in your body and mind when you’re triggered.

  • What things trigger you personally so that you can have more awareness.

  • Practical steps forward to minimising the effects of triggers on your nervous system- allowing you to remain calmer and more in control for more of the time.

Programme:

  • Doors open and drinks @6:30- 7:00

  • Workshop including practices and chance for questions @ 7:00-8:30

If joining via Zoom please tune in from 7pm
